Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) has been one of the most prestigious colleges for management studies since its birth in the year 1987. The foundation of the school was a result of an agreement between the Government of Odisha and the Society of Jesus. Currently, the Government of India has joint control over the business school along with the Government of Odisha and Society of Jesus.

The business school offers six distinct courses in management. There are two PhD courses for full-time and part-time students. The B school offers two types of MBA courses, which are MBA in Business Management and Executive MBA in Business Management. There is also an online management course named Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management through virtual interaction learning.

Courses Offered

The XIM institute offers five major courses, out of which three are postgraduate-level and two are PhDs.

MBA in Business Management

This is the flagship course of XIMB and is based on the standard model of MBA courses in India approved by AICTE and UGC.

However, it is distinct in terms of its high quality education, practical approach and discipline.

The MBA program has been designed in accordance with the aim of the institution to develop a holistic approach towards managing a modern business. It inculcates hard as well as soft skills necessary for the all round development of the student. 

The program is designed on the basis of a credit based system where credits are awarded for each subject. A subject can have 1.5 to 4 credits, and a total of 105 credits are available for the full course.

Courses in the first year (semester 1 and 2) are core subjects, and electives are available during the second year (semester 3 and 4).

At the end of the first year, students are required to spend at least eight weeks or two months in an organization doing a project on a management topic that has a high significance. The report of the project has to be submitted to the project guide for evaluation and has associated credits in the final score.

MBA in Business Management Master of Business Administration in Business Management Fee Structure 9.4. Lakh (First Year) Eligibility for MBA in Business Management: Selection is based on CAT, XAT or X-GMT. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Written Ability Test, Group Discussions and Personal Interview. At least 55% of marks at graduation level from a recognized university.

EMBA in Business Management

The executive MBA has been designed for professionals who already possess experience in management. The course has been designed for managers aspiring a senior role in businesses or who need a career advancement.

The course structure is similar to a full-time MBA course, but the four terms are spread over a time of 12 months. Students need to choose Accounting and Finance or Marketing as the area of specialization for term 3 and between OM&DS or OB&HR for term 4 as their specialization.

 

The entire program has 15 core courses (during term 1 and 2) and 22 elective courses (during term 3 and 4) and has a total of 85 credits.

EMBA Executive MBA in Business Management Fee Structure ₹15.5 Lakhs (Full Course Fees) Eligibility for Executive MBA Course in Business Management: Minimum 3-year bachelor's degree with minimum 55% marks. Minimum 3 years of work experience. Self-employed candidates should have a minimum 5-year work experience. Minimum age of 23 years. No objection certificate from the Employer.

 

Full-Time and Part-Time PhD

The Ph.D. courses are offered in full-time as well as part-time mode. Both courses have two different types of courses. 

Both Ph.D. courses can be undertaken by those who have a bachelor's degree (with some research) and a master's degree.

Ph.D. Doctorate in Philosophy Fee Structure: ₹1 Lakh for First Year, Both Full Time and Part Time Eligibility for PhD Course: Students with a bachelor's degree must have a min of 75% or equivalent marks and should have some research work in their 4-year or 8-semester course. Students with a master's degree should have a minimum of 60% or more at their postgraduate level. Candidates should have a NOC letter from their employers for part-time PhD Courses which should contain a clause that if the candidate does not have sufficient time for pursuing PhD, the employer must relieve them from work to complete the course.

 

EPGDM-VIL Program

The Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management is a course that is offered online for students who cannot attend full-time courses. It is also the most affordable course, with fees about ₹3.75 lakhs (changes with time).

Till now there have been 27 batches in the EPGDM-VIL program in which more than 1500 executives have successfully completed the course. The course has been offered since 1992.

It is a 12-month program with more than 250-live and virtual classes. However, recorded videos are also available for the same. The course has more than 17 projects that help in gaining practical and real-world knowledge. The course requires a weekly commitment of 8–10 hours.

The major benefit of the course is that it can be pursued while on the job and without a career break. This helps professionals get access to higher education with just 1–2 hours of daily learning.

 

EPGDM-VIL Program Executive Postgraduate Diploma in Management through Virtual Interactive Learning Fee Structure ₹3.75 lakhs (Entire Course) Eligibility for EPGDM-VIL Course: Candidates must have 50% or more at their graduation level. 3 years or more of managerial or executive work experience. Letter of recommendation from a supervisor, HR, or colleague with more than 5-years of work experience. Preference will be given to MSME company professionals.

Placement

XIMB students are placed in the most reputed companies with high salary figures.

The 35th batch that graduated with 356 students in 2023 received a 100% placement. With an average package of more than 20 lakhs per annum, candidates have received more than 111 offers. The highest package offered was 71.5 lakhs per annum.

Residential Area
