If it appears using the GATE result, a candidate should compulsorily apply for PESSAT. However, it is not important to take the test. The student can have the PESSAT hall ticket and GATE rank card and proceed for admission.  Candidates appearing via PGCET need to get admission from the PGCET cell after completing the counseling formality.
