Courses Offered in XIME Chennai

Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship offers a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management. The course has been designed as a rigorous, fully residential program. With active partnerships with the startup ecosystem, it aims to develop industry-ready managers.

XIME says that the advantage of the course is to deliver a captivating learning experience—a continuous collaboration with the industry to help students understand the dynamic of the real world. The curriculum also helps students deliver cutting-edge courses that are geared towards Industry 4.0. Concepts of design thinking, shared economy, and network economy are also adequately included in the learning system.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management

The course of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management is divided into a 2-year trimester system. Each year has three terms with a total of 69 core courses, 7 field activities and 38 electives.

There is an annual intake of 120 students in the Chennai branch of XIME.

The first-year syllabus emphasizes foundational subjects which impart a good knowledge of business and management. It covers the basics required to understand more advanced topics.

The syllabus for Post Graduate Diploma in Management also has incorporated the need for advanced subjects like Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Six Sigma, and SQL.

The second-year syllabus offers elective courses, giving the students the freedom to mould their own careers. Specializations are offered in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, and Analytics.

All the courses in the curriculum are refreshed every year to keep them updated with the latest industry standards. Further, the entire syllabus includes a case study method of learning.

A special emphasis is also given to the following areas:

1. Communication, which helps in overcoming the barriers of conversations. 
2. Global learning exposure. Students have the opportunity to participate in an international study program that is run in partnership with institutions in Europe, ASEAN, BRICS, etc.

Real-World Learning Activities

Two activities help students gain insights from industry experts:

• Summer Internship Programme
• Socially Useful and Productive Activity (SUPA)

The first program, Summer Internship, gives the students practical knowledge of working with real-world challenges. It is a mandatory part of all MBA and PGDM courses in the country.

Socially Useful and Productive Activity helps the students in getting real-world exposure to how NGOs work and understand deeply the challenges faced by them.

Qualifying Requirements

Grading is done on an 8 CGPA scale, where 8 CGPA is the highest score and 0 CGPA is the lowest score. 

In academics, a minimum of 4.5 CGPA is required for qualification from the first year to the second year and a minimum CGPA of 5 is a must to qualify as a graduate in the program and for the award of a diploma.

Attendance

Students are bound to have a 90% attendance; however, the institute expects a 100% attendance from them.

The candidates will be shortlisted with the following criteria:

1. Test scores carry 35% weightage.
2. Academic scores carry 15% weightage.
3. Group discussion carries 40% weightage
4. Extracurricular activities, gender diversity, and academic diversity carry 10% weightage.
