Updated: October 2026. We have updated this answer with current guidance for low KCET ranks and our admission resources.
What Counts as a Low KCET Rank?
Generally, a KCET rank below 10,000 is good for branches like CSE, ISE and ECE in top colleges. Ranks between 10,000 and 50,000 have moderate chances depending on branch and category. A rank above 50,000 is usually low for top merit seats, but your options are far from over.
The Management Quota Route
With a low KCET rank, you can still join top BTech colleges in Bangalore through the management quota. Colleges like RVCE, MSRIT, PES and BMSCE offer management seats where your rank does not decide admission. Also read: the management quota process and getting CSE with a low rank.
