Entrance Exams Beyond KCET and COMEDK
Yes. Apart from KCET and COMEDK UGET, several other entrance exams are recognized by Bangalore engineering colleges for B.Tech admission. Acceptance depends on the college type and quota.
JEE Main
Accepted by private and deemed universities like PES, REVA, JAIN and DSU, mainly for management or institutional quota seats. Not mandatory for most VTU-affiliated colleges.
University-Level Entrance Exams
Private universities conduct their own tests, valid only for that university:
- PESSAT: for PES University
- REVA CET: for REVA University
- Alliance University Engineering Entrance Exam
- RUASAT: for MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences
Class 12 Merit-Based Admissions
Many private colleges offer B.Tech seats on 12th PCM percentage (usually 45-50% eligibility). These fall under the management quota and need no KCET or COMEDK.
Institutional and Management Quota Admissions
No national or state exam required. Admission is based on 10+2 eligibility, seat availability and college-specific criteria. A common option if you missed KCET/COMEDK, have a low rank, or want specific branches like CSE, AI and ML, Data Science or ECE.
