The COMEDK UGET 2026 Round 1 Choice Editing window has been extended, giving eligible candidates more time to review and update their college and course preferences before seat allotment.
Candidates whose document verification has been successfully completed can use this extended period to make changes to their choice list and submit their final preferences.
This is expected to be the final opportunity to edit choices before the Round 1 seat allotment process begins. Thousands of engineering aspirants from across India are participating in the COMEDK UGET 2026 counselling process to secure admission to private engineering colleges in Karnataka.
If you are taking part in the counselling, it is important to review your preferences carefully and complete the choice editing process before the revised deadline.

ToggleWhat Is the Exact Update?
As per the latest update, the COMEDK UGET 2026 Round 1 choice editing window has been extended. The choice editing period, which allows candidates to revise their college and course preferences after the mock allotment results, has now been extended from 17 July to 24 July 2026.
If you have already completed document verification and are eligible for counselling, you can still log in to the COMEDK candidate portal and modify your preference list during the extended window. This gives you additional time to review the mock allotment, compare colleges and branches, and submit your final choices before the Round 1 seat allotment process begins.
What Is Choice Editing?
Every year, COMEDK allows eligible candidates to participate in a choice editing window as part of the counselling process. During this period, students can add, remove, or reorder their preferred engineering colleges and courses based on their interests, rank, and admission goals.
The choices submitted after the editing window closes are considered final and are used for the Round 1 seat allotment. Once the deadline passes, candidates cannot make further changes to their preference list for that round. The mock allotment is released before the final submission to help students understand their likely seat allocation, making it easier to refine their choices before the final allotment.
What Happens Next?
Once the extended choice editing window closes, COMEDK will process the final preferences submitted by eligible candidates and publish the Round 1 seat allotment results. The allotment will be based on the candidate’s rank, category, seat availability, and the order of preferences submitted during choice editing.
After the Round 1 results are announced, candidates will need to accept or reject their allotted seat, complete the required fee payment, and report within the specified timeline. Students who are not satisfied with their allotted seat may also get an opportunity to participate in the subsequent counselling rounds, subject to COMEDK’s counselling rules and seat availability.
Missed a Seat Through COMEDK Here Are Your Options
Is COMEDK counselling the only way to get admission into a top engineering college in Karnataka? Absolutely not.
Students who are not eligible for COMEDK counselling, miss the registration process, or do not secure a seat in their preferred college or branch can still explore direct admission opportunities. Many private engineering colleges in Bangalore reserve a limited number of management quota seats, allowing eligible students to apply directly based on the college’s admission criteria.
If you are looking for admission to leading engineering colleges in Bangalore through the management quota, GCS Online can guide you through the entire process. Our team helps students understand their options, complete the application process, prepare the required documentation, and secure seats in reputed engineering colleges through direct admissions.
