Updated: October 2026. We have updated this answer with current guidance on CSE seats through the management quota.
Can You Get CSE With a Low Rank?
Yes. You can get a Computer Science Engineering seat in top Bangalore colleges through the management quota even with a low COMEDK or KCET rank. Here is how it works:
Management Quota Seats Are Not Rank-Based
Under the management quota, admission depends on your 12th marks (you must meet basic eligibility), seat availability, timing of application, and budget flexibility, not your entrance rank.
Top Colleges Do Offer CSE in Management Quota
RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT and Dayananda Sagar offer CSE seats under management quota, but demand is very high and seats fill fast. You need to act early, especially for Computer Science.
Fees Are Higher for CSE
CSE is the most in-demand branch, so management quota fees for CSE run higher than ECE or Mechanical. Each college has its own structure, and our team tracks the current figures. Fee structures are revised every year and are based on previous years data and research done by our team at GCS Online.
What You Should Do Now
- Start early, ideally before counselling ends.
- Keep your documents ready.
- Shortlist 3-5 colleges based on preference and budget.
- Stay flexible with specializations like AI and ML or Data Science if core CSE is full.
