Documents Required for Admission 

The documents necessary for admission into 3-year LL. B course and 5-year integrated courses at St. Joseph's College of Law, Bangalore, are as follows:

  • Passport-size photograph (with white background)
  • 10th, 11th, 12th Standard mark sheets.
  • Caste certificate
  • Migration certificate (if studied any courses other than that of Pre-University Board of Karnataka)
  • Eligibility certificate is to be submitted by the students outside of Karnataka, who have fulfilled the eligibility criteria. (i.e., graduated in PUC outside of Karnataka) from the registrar of Karnataka State Law University.

Law Syllabus in St. Joseph's College of Law

St. Joseph's College of Law's law syllabus comprises all the subjects necessary for a candidate to become successful in the field of law. 

The first and second semesters are a combination of law and non-law subjects. The subjects in these semesters are as per the course chosen by the candidate, with general English, legal methods, Kannada/Kannada Kali, and law of torts as the common subjects across all the courses.

Third and fourth-year semesters have constitutional law, law of crimes, and law of general contract as the common subjects. 

The fifth and sixth semester subjects are the same for all the courses including labour law, jurisprudence, family law, administrative law, company law, and property law as the subjects.

The rest of the semesters include 4 clinical courses and 6 optional courses along with subjects like public international law, law of taxation, law of evidence, civil procedure code and limitation act, and environmental law.

Among the 4 clinical courses, the final one is the moot court exercise and internship, which helps the students understand legal etiquette laying a strong foundation for their law career.
